Museum Orientation

Our mission is to develop knowledge and understanding about the historical experience of people with disabilities. Here the primary focus is our exhibits. We feature the stories of individuals known and unknown, and we highlight artifacts gathered together and interpreted in order to reveal a variety of thematic contexts. There is no one unified experience of disability, but there are many shared ones.
